The 2001 Season - Getting Faulked

Rookies into the league, they came in with the 1st pick of the draft... the rest was easy. We all got Faulked! The Ribbed Trojans took the legs of their first pick Marshall Faulk, combined it with great picks in some veteran players which included Jimmy Smith, Jerry Rice, and the great arm of Rich Gannon. Great drafting done, in what was a season of slaughtering for the rest of the league.

There is very little details about the 2001 season only due to the fact, that like many organizations, in the beginning we didn't archive data properly. But more then anything the lack of data available has to do with the GOBFFL not actually becoming it;s own league until the 2003 season. Our Division was part of another league in 2001 and 2002, the LTFFL. While many teams, like The Beavers, Wildcards, The Trojans, and The Super Chargers were part of the LTFFL for several years we didn't break away and become are own until 2003. We recognize the 2001 and 2002 champions because by them most of our teams like Captain One Eye and The Fighting Irish were also in the fray. The 2001 and 2002 champs also not only knocked off our Division, which is now the GOBFFL, but went on to play a whole other 12 man champion and wiped the floor with them as well.
